Fence repairs
Leaning posts, blown-out panels, broken boards and gates that won't shut. Send a photo and we'll tell you what it needs.
What we repair
- Leaning or snapped posts: replaced, or braced with a concrete repair spur where the rest of the post is sound.
- Storm-damaged panels: refitted or replaced, matched as closely as we can to what's there.
- Broken closeboard: individual boards and rails replaced without rebuilding the bay.
- Rotten gravel boards: swapped for new timber or concrete boards.
- Gates: rehung, re-squared, new hinges or latches, or a new gate on the old posts.
Repair or replace?
| What you see | Often repairable | Usually time to replace |
|---|---|---|
| Posts | One or two moving, the rest solid | Most posts soft or moving at ground level |
| Panels or boards | A few damaged, the rest in fair condition | Splitting, grey and brittle along the run |
| Gravel boards | Damaged in places | Rotten along the run, with timber resting on soil |
| After a storm | One bay down, posts upright | A long section down, or posts snapped |
We'll say plainly which it is when we've seen it. Photos help us give an early answer.
After a storm
- Keep people and pets away from a leaning fence; don't push it back up yourself.
- Check for anything it has landed on: cars, cables, a neighbour's garden.
- Take photos from both sides before anything is moved. They're useful for us, and for insurance if you claim.
- Prop or tie a gap temporarily if you need to keep a dog in, then call or text us the photos.
Shared boundary? If the fence is your neighbour's, or you're not sure, it's worth talking to them before booking work. Who owns the fence?
